FRANCE - CHARLES VIII - ÉCU D'OR AU SOLEIL BORDEAUX - NGC MS63

Charles VIII (1483-1498), écu d'or au soleil struck at Bordeaux.

Obverse: crowned shield of France bearing three fleurs-de-lis, surmounted by a sun. Reverse: cross fleurdelisée, cantoned with four fleurs-de-lis, within a quatrefoil.

Retains most of its original freshness, with a light patina. An extremely rare coin with the Bordeaux privy mark on the reverse. Only a handful of examples known, ours being by far the finest. Mint State.
