Louis XIV (1643-1715), louis d'or à la tête laurée juvénile, 1666, struck at Paris.

Obverse: youthful laureate and draped bust of the king right. Reverse: cross formed of eight addorsed L's, each arm crowned, cantoned with four lis radiating from the centre. Mint letter A (Paris) in the centre.

Light circulation marks on the high points. The original mint lustre is covered by a light patina with golden highlights. Mint State.
