Louis XIV (1643-1715), louis d'or à la mèche longue, 1652, struck at Paris.

Obverse: youthful laureate bust of the king right, with a long lock of hair falling onto the nape of the neck. Legend LVD XIIII D G FR ET NAV REX. Date 1652 in exergue. Reverse: cross formed of eight crowned L's addorsed in pairs, fleurs-de-lis in the angles, mint letter A (Paris) in the centre. Legend CHRS REGN VINC IMP, for Christus regnat, vincit, imperat.

Close to as-struck condition, light patina. Slight circulation wear on the high points. Mint State.
