Why sell to HTN
Perhaps you know exactly what you have. Perhaps you have no idea at all. Either way, you are in the right place.
A gold buyer weighs your lot and pays the metal price. That is a trade in itself, and for a bar it is sometimes the right answer. But a Napoleon is not always a Napoleon: a rare date, a sought-after mint, an exceptional condition can be worth far more than the gold. We look at the coin first, the metal second.
Valuations are free, and they will stay free. A coin we do not know is a chance to learn: the eye is built coin by coin, and those who bring us their coins give us as much as they ask of us.
On price, we do not pull a figure out of the air. We start from results achieved at auction in recent months, we set them against your example, and we explain the reasoning. You know why the figure is what it is.
What you have in your hands is worth something. Our job is to tell you what.
What we look for
Gold and precious metals. Bars, Napoleons, Sovereigns, Vrenelis, Krugerrands, Maple Leafs, American Eagles, silver coins, silverware, platinum. Every lot is examined coin by coin: nothing worth more than melt is bought at melt.
Numismatic coins. Gaulish, Greek, Roman, royal, revolutionary, modern, from anywhere in the world. Hugo Taittinger examines them himself, with eighteen years of collecting behind him and hundreds of hours spent in the auction rooms.
Whole collections and estates. You have inherited a group of coins, or you want to part with your own after years of collecting. We travel, in Paris and beyond, to value it on site, and if you wish we provide a written valuation, coin by coin, for probate or for a division between heirs.

How it works
Write to us and describe what you have, with photographs if you have any. A few lines are enough to start.
We come back to you with a figure and the reasoning behind it. Nothing commits you at this stage, and nothing will until you agree.
Two options are then open.
Outright purchase. We agree a price and payment is immediate, with no commission and no fees of any kind. This is the quickest route.
Consignment. You place the coin with us and we choose together the right channel for it: the site catalogue, an e-auction, or a prestige sale. You receive the sale price, net of our commission.
If you are already a client and want to thin out your collection or rebalance your numismatic holdings, the process is the same.
