Louis XIV (1643-1715), louis d'or à la tête nue, 1673, struck at Lyon.

Obverse: youthful bust of the king right, long curly hair falling onto the nape of the neck. Legend LVD XIIII D G FR ET NAV REX. Date 1673 in exergue. Reverse: cross formed of eight crowned L's addorsed in pairs, fleurs-de-lis in the angles, mint letter D (Lyon) in the centre. Legend CHRS REGN VINC IMP, for Christus regnat, vincit, imperat.

Close to as-struck condition, with only minimal handling marks barely dulling the fields. Mint State.
