Charles VI (1380-1422), écu d'or à la couronne struck at Villeneuve-lès-Avignon.
Obverse: crowned shield of France bearing three fleurs-de-lis. Reverse: foliate cross fleurdelisée, cantoned with four small crowns, within a quatrefoil.
Bold strike, sharp relief, light toning over the original mint lustre. An example in a high state of preservation for the type, among the highest graded by NGC. Extremely Fine to Mint State.
